80% by 2018 Colon Cancer Screening Challenge
Colorectal cancer is a major public health problem. Early screening of colorectal cancer saves lives. “80% by 2018” is a National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (NCCRT) initiative in which organizations sign a pledge to work toward the shared goal of reaching 80% of adults aged 50 and older screened for colorectal cancer by 2018. The NCCRT is an organization co-founded by the American Cancer Society and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We have two projects in the development stage in Washington State; the Employer Challenge and the State Agency Challenge.
By partnering with Washington employers, we can reach the goal of 80% by 2018 and create a healthier Washington. The Washington CARES About Cancer Partnership and the American Cancer Society are committed to providing assistance with tools and resources as we work together through the Employer Challenge to reach the goal of 80% by 2018.

State Agency Challenge
The goal of the 80% by 2018 State Agency Challenge is to have state agencies meet the target of having 80 percent of eligible employees screened for colorectal cancer by the end of 2018. 2016 marks the beginning of a challenge between state agencies across Washington State to increase screening rates.
